Background and Professional Training
Dr. Boudouris is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist practicing in Charlottesville, VA, with over 30 years of clinical experience providing psychotherapy to adults, older adults, couples, and college students who range in age from 18 and up and who represent a wide range of racial, ethnic, and cultural diversity. Dr. Boudouris was educated and trained in New York, Chicago, and Boston, including completion of an inpatient and outpatient clinical training placement at University Hospital in Chicago, a clinical externship at the University of Illinois at Chicago Counseling Center, and two years of Clinical Fellowship with the Harvard Medical School in Boston. In addition to being in independent practice since 1995, Dr. Boudouris has had professional experience teaching graduate students, providing supervision to graduate students and post-doctoral fellows, and serving as clinical director for a large mental health organization.
Clinical Services
Dr. Boudouris is known as an interactive therapist and works with a solution focused, active, and collaborative approach, which is much appreciated by most of the people with whom he works. He has been trained in and draws from a variety of current and effective treatment models, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, contemporary interpersonal/relational psychodynamic psychotherapy, brief dynamic psychotherapy, and family systems models. A treatment plan and specific approach are developed for each patient following initial evaluation and in response to particular presenting concerns in an effort to provide an effective and quality therapy experience.

Dr. Boudouris works closely with psychiatrists and primary care physicians, etc., when medication and/or medical concerns are involved in the treatment. Referrals to other providers and services are also available as necessary.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost.
Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical items and services.
- You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency items or services. This includes related costs like medical tests, prescription drugs, equipment, and hospital fees.
- Make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. You can also ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule an item or service.
- If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill.
- Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
